16 Basic Tips for Strong Teeth and Gums
Going to a dentist gives you fear as well as worry. You tend to get worried regarding the high costs that you might have to pay to the dentist due to your negligence to the care of the teeth. It thus makes sense that you take care of your teeth by following certain basic dental care tips and maintain the teeth in a healthy condition. Taking the care of the teeth with proper brushing, flossing, sealant and regular visit to the dentist are much cheaper as compared to the expense of the fixing of the cavities.
The basic dental care tips include the following:
* Go for a dental check up at least once in every six months.
* Brush the teeth at least two times in a day.
* Use toothpaste that contains fluoride.
* Use a toothbrush with soft bristles and that fits the mouth properly.
* Replace the toothbrush after every 2 to 3 months or as soon as the bristles are bent or worn.
* Brush inner and outer surfaces of the teeth and the chewing surfaces of the teeth as well. Move the brush on the teeth in small circles.
* Use floss each and every day.
* Make use of inter dental brush on daily basis.
* Make use of an anti-microbial mouth rinse in order to avoid the problem of the gingivitis.
* Make use of a topical application of fluoride for the dried mouth.
* In case the gums bleed during or after eating and brushing, visit the dentist earliest possible.
* If you are a smoker and are willing to have white and healthy teeth then you must know that smoking weakens the gums and causes the deposition of the tar on the teeth.
* Take special care of the gums as the gum infection takes a longer time to heal.
* Clean the roof of the mouth and the tongue on regular basis as the bacteria of the mouth can also grow at these places.
* Use floss after every meal as the food introduces the maximum amount of the bacteria and other disease causing microbes in the mouth.
* The people who are suffering from the trouble of the diabetes tend to get the troubles of the teeth and the gums much more as the high sugar levels increase the probability of infection of the gums.
