Care for Combination Skins
THE care of a combination skin does present problem, as it seems to have the worst features of both dry and oily skin. The effort should be towards striking a balance to reduce the oiliness of the greasy parts and lubricate the dry areas. One should use two skin care routines and treat the different areas as two individual skins. This may sound very difficult, but once you understand the characteristics and choose the right cosmetics, the daily routine should be quite simple.
Cleansing comes first. The dry areas should be wiped with a light re hydrant gel, using moist cotton wool. Apply a medicated soap on the oily areas and rinse off with water. Rub a moisture of beauty grains and skin tonic on areas that are prone to blackheads. Wash off, Tone the entire face with skin tonic, using a cotton wool pad. Put the skin briskly. This cleansing routine should be followed in the morning and before bedtime.
“The night care routine should include a light massage with a nourishing cream on the dry regions. Choose a produce that is not too oily. Cleanse and massage the neck too. Wipe off all the cream with moist cotton wool after twenty minutes. Apply an almond under-eye cream around the eyes and wipe off with moist cotton wool after ten minutes. If there are any spots or pimples on the oily areas, apply an anti-pimple lotion only on the eruptions and leave it on. In case there are scars left by acne, rub an anti-blemish ointment it into the scars and leave it on all night.”
A few cosmetic-aids, common to both types, are also required. A suitable sunscreen would protect the skin from dehydration, and environmental pollutants. Whenever the skin feels dry, use a light liquid moisturiser. A skin tonic with rose base is a very versatile produce. It helps to tone and refresh the skin and acts as a quick pick-me-up during the day. The skin care routine without a face mask is incomplete. Choose one according to the need. If there is acne or pimples, a medicated mask is the best answer.
