Cultivating Soil for the Growth of the Vegetables
For the growth of the vegetables there are mainly three possible kinds of soil exists. The very first is the loamy soil. It is the
type which had the very high proportion of the humus and the decayed organic matters. More the loamy is the soil blacker wills they appear because of the reason is that the humus is black in colour. The next type is the clayey soil where clay contents in this type are very high. Clay is the fine granules of the minerals which tends to join together. Thus, the clayey doesn’t drain the water wells. The next type is the sandy soil where sand content are very high. They are somewhat like antithesis of the clay in their physical states. Sand is the larger & coarse grains of the minerals & tends to unconnected. Hence, they are not having the property of water holding.
Chances for the soil in their vegetable gardens are the mixture of the some or of all the three types. But the question arises that what do the people do about the same?
The main solutions are to make the clayey sandier & also to make the sandy even more clayey. Vegetables gardeners are agreed that best composition have the 20% of the clay, 40% of the sand & another 40% of the silt (fine-grained materials that doesn’t include the clay minerals). The people can make the estimation of the percentage of the every component by the putting of some of the dirt into the transparent container such as the beaker & then add the water. Then shake the container & allowed the materials for settling down to their own. They should see the three layers. The topmost layers are the clay, middle layer is the silt & the bottom layer is the sand. Here people can estimate a proportion of the elements.
Now if they want to them for making the clayey more sandier, then just add some of the sand, compost and the peat moss. When the material had a large amount of the sand or the silt, add some of the clay minerals such as the bentonite, the peat moss and the compost. Peat moss plays the role for enabling the nutrients for mixing them together when they are wet. With a right combination of the sand, the clay & the silt, the person’s gardens are ready for the planting of their vegetables.
