Drugs Most Commonly Used to Cure Hypertension
Hypertension is hard to detect as there are no identifiable symptoms that one could look for. There are two kinds of
hypertension: First one is known as primary hypertension which has no cure, whereas the second one is the secondary hypertension which is due to some medical illness like damaged blood vessel or a thyroid deficiency. Secondary hypertension can be treated with medications and by adopting a healthier lifestyle.
It is important to get your blood pressure checked on regular basis. When you are getting your blood pressure checked look for two figures the upper figure which tells you the pressure exerted by the arteries when the heart contracts and second figure tells you the pressure exerted when the heart is resting. Also remember, that on the basis of just one test you can’t conclude whether you are hypertensive or not. You should at least have two blood pressure readings on separate occasions to come to a final conclusion.
You are exposed to many risks when you have hypertension because this can lead to different ailments such as arterial diseases, kidney diseases, stroke, and heart attack and you are at greater danger when you already have existing conditions such as atherosclerosis and diabetes.
How this condition can be checked, by taking precautions and medication. There are different drugs available in the market. For example, DIURETICS can help in removing the water and excess salt in the body , BETA-BLOCKERS which are helpful in reducing the force of contractions in the heart, ACE-INHIBITORS they help in easing the arteries by reducing certain enzymes in the body. Some commonly used medication for hypertension such as direct vasodilators, alpha-blockers and ace receptor blockers but all these will be useless if you continue to live a sedate and dormant lifestyle.
Now, how to get a hypertension free and a healthier life? The answer to is simple:
1. Start exercising at least three times a week for thirty to sixty minutes because this could be beneficial in the treatment of hypertension.
2. Another thing that you can do is reduce your intake of salt as it leads to retention of water in the body thus making you more prone to high blood pressure.
3. Try to remain calm, because when you get stressed your body release harmful hormones which could aggravate your condition.
4. Getting rid of bad habits like drinking and smoking could be beneficial in curing hypertension.
