Everyday Tips for Dental Care
Everyone wants the perfect teeth. Taking care of the teeth is not at all a difficult task and requires very basic practices which if
followed properly and on regular basis can ensure you stronger and whiter teeth.
Here are some tips that you can follow for the dental care:
Clean the teeth after every meal with the help of a tooth brush and a dental floss. It is very important that you use a tooth brush and floss that suits you the best. It is equally important that you make a regular visit to your dentist and consult him or her for the floss and the tooth brush. Removal of the plaque that gets deposited on the teeth regularly tends to prevent the periodontal diseases.
The periodontal diseases are very frequent especially among the people of the old age. The various common symptoms of the periodontal diseases include the bleeding of the gums, bad smell in the breath and the loosening of the teeth. Improper brushing and brushing the teeth harshly and that too with a brush with worn bristles can hurt the gums and cause bleeding from gums. The chewing of the tobacco products as well as smoking can cause sever damage to the gums and teeth, and in rare cases might as well lead to mouth cancer.
If your teeth are loose and weak then you must not ever try chewing a hard substance. In such a condition you must also take care of the teeth while playing any active sports. In order to keep the teeth in a healthy condition, you must take a diet that is rich in calcium and phosphorous – the 2 minerals that can harden the teeth. You should increase the intake of fresh fruits, green vegetables, fish, poultry, meat, milk cottage cheese and yoghurt. Basically you must try and increase the intake of the protein in the diet. Drinking a lot of water also helps as it drains the toxins from the body and the mouth as well.
Never use the lemon juice for whitening the teeth as this tends to dissolve the calcium and thereby weaken the teeth leading to teeth damage. You must try to avoid eating in between the meals. This will increase the salivation. Avoid taking fizz drinks, sodas and unnecessary snacks as they cause damage to the teeth by harming the enamel of the teeth.
