The Factors That May Be Responsible For Different Types of Cancers

One of the major factors that may cause skin cancer is the exposure to direct sunlight, the ultraviolet rays from the sun and the Cancer4harmful rays from the other sources (such as tanning booths and sunlamps) harms the skin of a human being and can be the reason behind the development of skin cancer. The continuous exposure to these ultraviolet rays may increase the possibility of skin cancer, particularly if you are having a pale skin or you freckle easily. The sun radiates the ultraviolet rays, which are most harmful throughout the summer season. Hence the possibility of skin cancer to develop is the maximum in the summer season.

So, in the summer season you should be wearing some kind of protective clothing, which can be long sleeves and possibly a hat, which can block the direct contact of the harmful rays of the sun to your body. In addition to this, you can make use of the various sunscreens that are available in the markets to protect yourself from the harmful rays of the sun.

All the sunscreens that are available in markets are rated according to the strength of their SPF (that is the abbreviation of the sun protection factor), which can vary from 5 to 35 and much higher. The sunscreens that are rated between 20 and 35 are the best, as they block all the harmful rays that are emitted by the sun. Hence the best advice that can be given to any person to avoid the development of skin cancer is to wear as many protective cloths as you can, at least in the summer season and apply the sunscreens which have a SPF of at least more than.20.

Keeping aside the factor of the harmful radiation from the sun, let us also understand that drinking alcohol in large amounts can increase the possibility of cancer of the throat, esophagus, larynx and mouth which are equally dangerous as the skin cancer. The people who are chain smokers of cigarettes and have a bad drinking habit are especially prone to these cancers. Drinking alcohol in large amounts can be harmful for the liver and can increase the possibility of liver cancer. A number of studies also recommend that drinking alcohol in large amounts can increase the possibility of breast cancer in women, so if you are a big alcoholic, then try to reduce your drinking habits.
