For all the vegetarians, Soy protein is a great option as a protein-rich food. This comparatively much cheaper heart food contains all the ingredients for a heart-healthy meal -fiber, vitamins, and minerals. Similarly, instead of full fat dairy products, consume skimmed or low fat dairy products like toned milk, yogurt and processed cheese or butter. Good eating for a healthy heart always involves staying away from sugar-rich foods such as candies, cakes, and aerated drinks. Instead opt for fruits and vegetables or fruit juices, which are rich in anti-oxidants. For those interested in non-vegetarian food, avoid kidney or liver as they contain high levels of cholesterol, which is very harmful for heart as it causes blockage in arteries.
So, a strict diet discipline along combined with regular cardio-vascular exercises, can certainly keep your heart in great shape. And remember, a healthy heart is the key to a healthy body.
