Hypertension-Types, Symptoms and Cure
What is Hypertension?
Hypertension or high blood pressure is becoming a major problem today. It’s known to be a silent killer as people don’t even get to know that they are suffering from hypertension. There are practically no noticeable symptoms for it. You will only get to know whether you are hypersensitive or not, only if you get your blood pressure checked regularly, also if someone in your family is suffering from hypertension then you are most likely to get this disease.If you are suffering from high blood pressure then you might experience following-
Hypertension symptoms:
• Breathing problems
• Severe chronic headaches
• Chest congestion and pain
• Blood in the urine
• Vision problems (blurry vision)
• Physical and mental stress
• Irregular heartbeats (palpitations)
It is best to immediately consult a doctor for proper treatment in case you experience any of the symptoms stated above. It is possible that you could be suffering from hypertension already and it is very dangerous because it may lead to stroke or heart attack. It is best to have your blood pressure checked regularly.
If you sense that you are undergoing any of the above symptoms then you should immediately consult a doctor. Hypertension is quite dangerous as it may lead to heart attack or stroke and there are chances that you might be suffering from hypertension without even knowing yourself. It’s good to have your blood pressure checked regularly to know whether your blood pressure is within the normal range. Hypertension can also lead to other serious ailments like eye problems and kidney failure.
Hypertension can be divided into following categories:
• Normal: Less than 120/80
• Pre-hypertension: 120-139/80-89
• Stage 1 hypertension: 140-159/90-99
• Stage 2 hypertension: 160 and above/100 and above
Remedies:
As there are no symptoms at all therefore it’s better to adopt all the possible preventive measures.
1. A balanced diet could help in reducing the chances of this disease.
2. Reducing the intake of foods rich in sodium (salt), cholesterol and saturated fat can prove to be effective in avoiding high blood pressure.
3. Eating foods that are high in potassium and calcium like fruits, low-calorie dairy products, vegetables, and wheat is very good for lowering high blood pressure.
4. Obese person are more prone to be hypertensive. An obese person is the one who weighs 30% more than the normal. It’s necessary for an obese person to lose weight. Doing exercise regularly not only helps in reducing the weight but will also develop good lungs and heart.
