Skin Care Myths
You might have come across several myths related to skin care that by doing this your skin may get damaged or by doing that
can harm your skin or eating the particular kind of food item can lead to skin problems. These myths not only scare you but also prevent you from taking steps that can have a positive impact on your skin. Sometimes an individual gets relief from one kind of thing and second kind of thing doesn’t work out for them; that results in formation of myth for other people when that individual shares his or her personal experience with other people. But the fact is it totally depends upon the skin type and the same kind of products may workout well for an individual and not for the others. Instead of sticking to a myth and prevent yourself from taking any action for your skin improvement, you can always rely on the advise of a dermatologist or a beauty expert who can help you remove all your doubts.
Some of the common skin care myths are as follows:
You must change your skin soap with season.
The fact is that there is no need to change your soap with the changing season as long as you are mild soap for your skin which not only cleans your skin but also moisturizes it.
Acne treatment is similar for everyone.
The fact is that every individual has a particular skin type and a treatment for one kind of skin type may not work for the other. Similar is the case with acne, while acne is caused in some because of their sensitive skin, it may be caused in others because of their unhealthy eating habits and stressful lives, so how can a similar treatment work in both the cases when the root cause of acne is not the same.
Another common myth about skin care is that more sunscreen lotion you will over your skin, more protected it will be from the harmful sun rays.
The fact is that a sun protection lotion with higher SPF will be more effective in guarding your skin from harmful sun rays than applying it in large quantity.
Every soap that you use is harsh on your skin.
The fact to this common myth is that all soaps are not acidic or alkaline based but some of them are neutral also with pH=7. You can take a litmus paper and find it yourself whether the soap you are using is mild or not. If the color of litmus paper does not change, than the soap you are using for your skin is mild one and not harmful.
Following the entire skin products of a particular brand only will yield effective results for your skin.
However the fact is that it is not mandatory to use the entire skin products of a particular brand as one product may work out well for you and the other may not. You can use any skin care product by any brand provide they are not made of cheap ingredients and thus harmful for your skin.
Don’t just blindly give in to myth, use your mind and in case of doubt consult the expert.
