Tips for Strong and Healthy Teeth
Here are some useful dental care tips which are helpful for strong and healthy teeth:
1. The first thing is to clean your teeth after eating and brush the teeth in a proper way.
2 .Do not chew hard things as this may lead to weakening of teeth.
3. Do not use tobacco products because they can increase the risk of gum diseases and cancer of the throat and mouth.
4. Do not ignore the gums that bleed while brushing.
5. Ask your dentist about cosmetic options for improving the appearance of teeth that are defected and stained.
6. Use a mouth guard while playing active sport.
7. Visit the dentist regularly, because a dentist can remove plaque from teeth and prevent tooth decay and gum disease.
8. Eating sweetened cereals dry is bad for teeth, always add milk.
9. Frequent use of coffee or tea with sugar added will increase the risk of teeth decay.
If you feel the following then you have chances of a periodontal disease;
1. Gums bleeding while brushing
2. Bad breath
3. Loose teeth
4. Pus between the teeth and gum
5. Gums that have pulled away from the teeth
6. Red and swollen gums
In such a condition, visit the dentist.
More Tips:-
1. When babies develop teeth, it is important to give them food which can be easily chewed.
2. Do not give babies a bottle containing juice, milk or a formula in bed because it is not good for their teeth. The sugar in the juice and milk if allowed to stay in the mouth for long periods can lead to decay in baby’s small teeth.
3. Eat a balanced diet for good health and select a variety of easily chewable foods.
4. Do not use lemon water to whiten the teeth because vitamin c will cause the teeth to loose calcium, damaging teeth quicker than anything else.
5. Whenever you need to get your teeth bleached, it should be done by a qualified dentist.
6. Drink plenty of water daily.
7. Do not eat all the time. Leave two to three hours between meals and snacks this allows the acid level in the mouth to fall and also gives saliva a chance to counteract the effect of acid and repair the tooth enamel.
8. Try chewing raw vegetables once in a day because they help in cleaning the teeth.
9. Change your toothbrush regularly.
